No lockdown to be imposed in these 5 Cities; Allahabad High Court order, Only Strict restrictions

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government said it would not impose a lockdown on Monday. Basically, they have pointed out some various cities including Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, and Gorakhpur, which witness a huge number of coronavirus cases on a daily basis.

The Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister, announced its decision after the Allahabad HH court asked for a strict lockdown in the above five cities.

The Uttar Pradesh government will not impose a complete lockdown on cities but will impose strict restrictions on coronavirus outbreaks. Navneet Sehgal Chief Secretary of the Information and Public Relations Department said the UP government was submitting a reply to the court on its observations.

The response from the UP government came as the Allahabad High Court today directed the Yogi Adityanath government to impose lockdown in Priyagram, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur Nagar, and Gorakhpur till April 26, 2021.

The court order came after the highest one-day increase in coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh, as well as the record number of COVID deaths recorded on April 18.

The total number in the state rose to 8,51,20, with 30,599 new infections being detected on Sunday, bringing the death toll from the deadly infectious virus to 129 more and reaching 9,830.
